WedgeBlok Garden Edging

WedgeBlok is a tapered edging block. One end is wider than the other, so laying the blocks side by side naturally pulls the run into a curve without a single cut. That is the whole point of the product and it is what separates it from a straight edging unit.

Curves and Circles

Because each block turns the run by a fixed amount, enough of them in sequence will close a full circle. That is why WedgeBlok gets used for fire pit surrounds and circular garden beds as often as it gets used for plain edging. Lay it the other way and alternate the direction of the taper and you can hold a near straight line, so one product handles both the straight sections and the curves on the same job.

What Edging Is For

Edging keeps two materials apart. It stops mulch washing into the lawn and stops runner grasses like couch and kikuyu creeping into the garden bed, which is the maintenance job that never ends without it. It also gives the mower a hard edge to run a wheel against, so you are not whipper snipping the border every time.

How to Order

WedgeBlok is priced per lineal metre, not per square metre, because it is a line not an area. Measure the length of the run, including around every curve rather than across it, and order that many metres. It works out at 7.14 blocks per lineal metre, and a pallet holds 336 blocks, which is about 47 metres. Bed the blocks on a compacted base so the run holds its line, and haunch behind them with concrete or a stiff mix where the ground moves.

Colours

Charcoal and Sand. Charcoal disappears against dark mulch and reads as a clean line rather than a feature. Sand stands out more and defines the bed, which works where the edging is meant to be seen. If you are also laying Esplanade pavers, the same two colour names run across both products.
