Sunrise Gold organic steppers, natural split sandstone, sold per piece. Fawn gold with soft grey movement, in the free-form outlines that give organic steppers their name.
What “Organic” Means Here
Organic is the shape, not the stone. Instead of sawn rectangles, each stepper keeps a naturally irregular outline, roughly rounded, no two alike, so a path across a lawn or through planting looks placed rather than built. The tops are flat enough to walk comfortably; the edges are where the character lives. If you want crisp geometry instead, sawn stepping stone formats are here.
Laying Steppers in Lawn or Garden
The usual method is simple. Set the steppers out and walk the path before digging; a natural stride lands about 600 to 650mm centre to centre. Cut around each stone, excavate a little deeper than the stone’s thickness, bed on compacted crusher dust or sand, and set the face flush with the lawn or a few millimetres proud in garden beds. Flush matters in grass, because the mower runs straight over a flush stepper.
Being sold per piece, you order the count your path needs rather than a fixed crate area. Count your layout, then add one or two; natural pieces vary in size and having a spare lets you choose freely at the ends of the run.
Queensland Orders
A steady share of stepper searches come from the Gold Coast, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, and these crates ride our regular south-east Queensland freight runs; details on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast pages. The warm gold suits Queensland gardens well, and split sandstone keeps its grip with wet feet.
The same stone runs through the Sunrise Gold pavers and crazy paving if the path meets a paved area. The darker alternative in the same shape is the bluestone stepper, and everything else is under stepping stones. Samples are free, dispatch is from Keysborough in Melbourne, freight quoted Australia wide.
