Raven Black is G684 granite, the original black basalt-granite quarried for exterior paving, in an exfoliated finish. Tiles run 400×400, 600×400 and 600x600mm at 20mm; pavers run 400×400, 600×300, 600×400 and 800x400mm at 30mm. The exfoliated (flamed) face is what makes a black stone usable outside: it opens the surface into a fine texture that grips when wet.
Black paving is mostly a contrast decision. Raven Black frames lawns, white render and light stone sharply, and it hides tyre marks and leaf stains that show on pale stone, which is why it is a regular pick for driveways and entries. One honest caveat: dark granite gets hot in full summer sun, so for barefoot pool surrounds consider a lighter stone or use black as a border rather than the field.
G684 is dense enough that sealing is optional rather than essential, and the colour holds in UV. Matching treads and risers and Raven Black cobblestones let you carry the stone through steps and edging. Free samples are available, and the granite range has grey and speckled options to pair with it.
