Patio Premium is the thicker rectangular paver in the range at 400x200x50mm, with a bevel on all four edges. The extra 10mm of thickness over Patio Pave and the larger footprint make it the step up where a paved area gets heavy foot traffic.
What the Bevelled Edges Do
A bevel is a chamfer run around the top edge of the paver. It does two things. It defines each unit visually once the job is laid, so the pattern reads clearly instead of looking like one flat sheet. It also protects the arris, which is the top corner of the paver, because a square edge is the first thing to chip when something heavy gets dropped or a wheelbarrow is dragged across it. Bevelled pavers also hide small differences in level between adjacent units better than a square edge does, which makes a hand laid job more forgiving.
Coverage and Ordering
Patio Premium covers at 12.5 pavers per square metre, 162 to a pallet, so a pallet does 12.96 square metres. It is the same two to one rectangle proportion as Patio Pave, so it takes the same range of patterns.
Premium or Standard
Patio Pave at 40mm handles a normal domestic patio and costs less per square metre. Patio Premium is worth the difference where the area takes constant traffic, carries outdoor furniture that gets moved about, or where you want the bevelled edge detail. Both come in Charcoal and Sandune, so you can run one product into the other across a site and keep the colour consistent.
