Navona limestone pavers, tumbled and antique finish, 30mm in 610x406mm and French Pattern, with 12mm tiles in the same formats. The colour is a soft faded white, closer to old bone than to bright white, and the tumbled face makes new paving read as if it has been down for decades.
Antique Limestone Paving, Properly Done
The appeal of antique limestone is that it skips the raw stage. Freshly sawn pale stone can sit stark for a couple of years until weather softens it. Navona arrives already softened: rounded edges, a lightly worn face, colour that shifts subtly piece to piece. Laid in French Pattern it is the closest thing to a European farmhouse courtyard you can buy by the crate.
Where It Goes
Pool surrounds, terraces, garden paths and verandahs are the natural homes. The pale tone keeps surfaces cooler underfoot in summer, which matters around a pool, and it bounces light into shaded courtyards that a grey stone would deaden. On driveways lay the 30mm over a reinforced slab.
Practical Notes
The 30mm pavers lay on compacted road base with bedding sand or on concrete. The 12mm format is for interiors and covered areas on a slab, and has its own page with the indoor detail, so a kitchen can flow out to the terrace in one stone. Limestone wants sealing after laying, and a pale stone rewards it double, since sealed Navona wipes clean where unsealed pale stone stains.
