A Charcoal Stone Floor Indoors
Dark stone floors have come back strongly in the last few years, mostly in kitchens, entries and bathrooms where the contrast against pale cabinetry does the work. Midnight Glow is a true charcoal rather than a grey, and the tumbled antique finish keeps it from looking like a large-format porcelain. In a kitchen the texture is an advantage, since a honed dark floor shows every footprint.
At 15mm it is thin enough for a standard interior build-up over a slab. Dark limestone should be sealed before grouting; without a sealer the grout leaves a permanent haze on the face that is very visible on charcoal. Use a penetrating sealer, then grout, then seal again once cured.
Indoor to Outdoor
The same stone in 30mm carries the floor out to a terrace or pool surround, with the thickness change hidden at the sill. That is the usual way people buy the two together. One caution worth repeating: charcoal stone gets genuinely hot in direct summer sun, so if the outdoor area is a barefoot pool surround, consider running Midnight Glow inside and a lighter stone out.
A note for anyone who found this page searching for glowing or glow in the dark pavers. Midnight Glow is named for its colour. It is quarried limestone with no luminescent additive and it does not light up at night.

We import Midnight Glow directly into our Keysborough warehouse in Melbourne. Builders, tilers and landscapers can buy at crate rates rather than retail, and crates run 26.88sqm in the 15mm tile. If you are pricing a job across several houses, call and we will quote the run.
Because we import rather than resell, we can also talk about lead times honestly. Stock held here ships within days. If you need a quantity beyond what is on the floor, a container takes considerably longer, and we would rather tell you that at quote stage than at delivery.
