What “Anti-Slip” Means on a Marble Tile
This is the question worth answering, because there is a lot of confusion around it. The anti-slip finish here is mechanical, not chemical. The face is treated so the surface carries a fine texture that gives grip when wet. It is not a coating applied over a polished tile, which is what most “anti slip marble coating” products are, and which wears off.
Because the texture is in the stone, it lasts as long as the tile does. The trade-off is that a textured marble holds dirt more readily than a polished one, so it wants sweeping more often than a smooth floor.
Where It Belongs
Bathroom floors, shower bases, laundries, and the strip of interior floor just inside a door from a wet outdoor area. Anywhere a polished marble would be genuinely dangerous. Colour and Care
Argento is a silver grey marble with fine darker veining. It sits neatly with chrome and matt black tapware, which is most of why it ends up in bathrooms.
Marble etches with acid, and bathroom cleaners are frequently acidic. Use a pH-neutral cleaner and the floor stays as it was; use a limescale remover on it and you will see the mark. Seal before grouting.
