This is the full catalogue: natural stone pavers in granite, limestone, travertine, sandstone, marble, bluestone and quartzite, imported directly into our Keysborough warehouse in Melbourne and sold without a middle tier. Choosing a Paving Stone: the Short Version
Granite is the hardest wearing and never etches; pick it for driveways and anywhere that works for a living. Limestone gives the flattest, most contemporary look at a friendlier price. Travertine stays coolest underfoot and drains through its natural pores, which is why it dominates pool surrounds. Sandstone brings warm golds no other stone offers. Marble is the premium look and asks for sealing discipline in return. Bluestone is Melbourne’s own basalt, dense and acid-proof.
That one paragraph settles most projects. Where two stones both fit, order free samples of each and look at them at the site, wet and dry, in the actual light.
Thickness Is the Spec That Matters
Stone pavers here run 15 to 20mm for bonding to a concrete slab, and 30mm for laying on either a slab or compacted road base with bedding sand. Foot traffic is happy on any of them laid properly. Vehicles are different: driveways want 30mm stone over a reinforced slab, full stop. If a quote is much cheaper than others, thickness is usually where the money went, so compare like for like.
What Stone Pavers Cost
As a working range across this catalogue: limestone and sandstone mostly land between the mid $60s and $90 per square metre, travertine and granite the $70s to low $100s, marble and speciality finishes above that. Crazy paving runs cheaper per square metre than cut formats in the same stone. Because we import direct and sell in full and mixed crates, trade and volume pricing is a phone call rather than a form. Freight is quoted per order, Australia wide, and it is often less than people brace for on a full crate.
Stone or Concrete Pavers?
Concrete pavers are cheaper upfront; that part is true. What the brochure skips: concrete’s colour is a surface layer that fades and wears through, chips show grey aggregate, and a repaired area rarely matches the original batch. Formats Beyond the Rectangle
French Pattern repeats four sizes for large areas that would look rigid in a grid. Crazy paving is random pieces for the most relaxed surface there is. Cobblestones handle curves and borders. Steppers cross lawns. Matching pool copings and stair treads exist for most stones, so one material can run through an entire project.
