Why the Wedge Shape Matters

WedgeBlok is tapered, so one end is wider than the other. Laid side by side the blocks pull the
run into a curve on their own, with no cutting and no wedge shaped gaps at the joints. Enough of
them in sequence will close a full circle, which is why the same product ends up around fire pits
and circular garden beds as often as it does along a straight border. Alternate the direction of
the taper and the run holds a near straight line, so one product covers both.

Ordering by the Lineal Metre

Edging is a line, not an area, so it is priced per lineal metre. Measure the length of the run
including the curves rather than straight across them, because a curved border is longer than it
looks on a plan. WedgeBlok works out at 7.14 blocks per lineal metre and a pallet holds 336, which
is roughly 47 metres.

What Edging Actually Does

It keeps two materials apart. Mulch stops washing into the lawn, and runner grasses like couch
and kikuyu stop creeping into the garden bed, which is the maintenance job that never ends without
a hard edge. It also gives the mower a wheel to run against, so the border does not need whipper
snipping every time.

Laying It So It Stays Put

Bed the blocks on a compacted base rather than straight onto soft ground, and haunch behind
them with concrete or a stiff mix anywhere the ground moves or the edging holds back a load of
mulch. Edging that wanders out of line a season later is almost always edging that was laid on
loose fill.
